Bizarre moment Cricket star Ravi Ashwin sniffs clothes during India’s T20 World Cup win over Zimbabwe

RAVI ASHWIN was caught on camera sniffing two pieces of clothing after India beat Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup.

The Indian cricket star was spotted by fans performing the bizarre act before the clip went viral with over 80,000 likes.

The video showed Ashwin collecting his clothes at the MCG after the match and confirming that one of the items was his by smelling it and then dropping the other.

Fans couldn’t resist poking fun at the star on social media, with one saying: “He chose which sweater to wear again without washing it again and which one to definitely put in the wash. “

Another said: “If you don’t wash your clothes in winter, use this technique to find out which ones smell less.”

A third said: “Exactly what I do…all the clothes are at a hostel and the only way to find clean ones is 5 minutes before class starts.”

A fourth asked the cricketer to explain himself, saying: “Have seen this video a number of times. Always drives me crazy.

“Ravi Ashwin, please enlighten us with your logic of choosing the right sweater.”

Ashwin actually responded and revealed why he was sniffing the clothes, he tweeted: “Checking if the sizes can be distinguished! Verifies that it was initialed.

“Finally checked if I use perfume. Adei cameraman.”

The 36-year-old has been in impressive form at the World Cup in Australia so far, starring in the win over Zimbabwe when he won three wickets in just 22 runs.

He hopes to continue his form in Thursday’s semi-final against England, to be played at the Adelaide Oval.
