JOE Biden will have a colonoscopy today before his 79th birthday, and Kamala Harris will become acting president while he does it.
The President visited Walter Reed Hospital on Friday morning for his annual physical.
However, it was later confirmed that he would need to undergo a colonoscopy.
While the President is under anesthetic, Vice President Kamala Harris will assume his role.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement: “As was the case with President George W. Bush who followed the same procedure in 2002 and 2007, and in accordance with the process set forth in the Constitution, the President Biden will transfer power to the Vice President for a short period of time when he is under anesthesia.
“The Vice President will be working from her office in the West Wing during this time.”
Biden is undergoing medical procedures just a day before his 79th birthday.
