Good morning Red Devils fans
Bruno Fernandes claims defense time is running out – and Newcastle want Phil Jones.
Midfielder Fernandes saw Aston Villa cancel two goals in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.
Both the Portuguese star and the interim coach Ralf Rangick were stunned by the collapse of the Red Devils.
But with United visiting Brentford on Wednesday, Fernandes wants the criticism to be over.
He said: “The frustration is there but now is the time to move on because the next game is coming very quickly.
“As I said before, now is the time to understand what we can do better and go to the next game and try to win. It will be another tough game.”
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Jones is finally able to revive his career after injuries.
However, United are said to be holding out for £15m even though the former England international is rejecting their list of centre-back options.
Wantaway midfielder Anthony Martial turned down offers he refused to play in Saturday’s deadlock.
Rangnick has revealed Martial wants to leave this month.
But the Frenchman said: “I would never refuse to play a game for Manchester United.
“I’ve been here for seven years and I’ve never been disrespectful and will never be disrespectful to the club and the fans.”
Finally, Borussia Dortmund have sought to defuse Man United’s assertion of target Erling Haaand that the Bundesliga giants are pressing him to decide his future.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told Kicker: “Erling’s statements took us a bit by surprise.
“There is currently no deadline, no deadline, and not even any discussions yet. But that we want and must have conversations at some point that are clear, understandable and just professional.”
