Because mom had something more important to do, a 2-year-old girl was left with dead toddlers for three days

A Ukrainian toddler died after his mother left him and his two-year-old sister alone for nine days to spend time with her lover.

Vladislava Podchapko reportedly left her two children alone for nine days without food – resulting in her son’s death. Her 2-year-old daughter was left alone with her brother’s body for three days. The boy was 23 months old and starved to death.

After the children were discovered in the house, the girl was taken to the hospital, where she was miraculously saved.

“The girl was exhausted, she was very weak,” a doctor told the Daily Mail. “She was admitted immediately [the] hospital where we started intravenous feeding. She is better now and we can say that she will live. We started them on tiny amounts of solid food.”

When questioned by police, the mother, who is believed to be pregnant with her third child, appeared unaware that her children could starve in her absence.

“I didn’t know children could die,” she told authorities.

Authorities were alerted to the home after neighbors heard the children screaming in desperation, the Daily Mirror reported. As the children tried to escape, the wallpaper was ripped from the walls. They were reportedly malnourished and frightened.

The horrifying story went viral, with many people expressing their anger and disgust at the mother for her selfish actions.
