An inquest into the horrific death was launched yesterday by Coroner Catherine McKenna.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, her distraught family described her as a “beautiful soul”.

Heartbroken mother Shazia Bi said: “How lucky we were to have Falaq in our lives for such a short time but she left us with so many memories and love.”

“We all cherished her dearly and she will forever remain in our hearts and minds.

“Mom, dad and brother will never forget you. We as a family cannot take the loss of such a beautiful soul. We love you, Falaq.”

Police coroner Tracy Bunn told the inquest that Falaq was admitted to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital after “complaining of being unwell”.

Ms Bunn explained: “She started throwing up and stopped responding.”

The court heard a CT scan was performed and the little girl had to have emergency surgery, but later died.

A preliminary cause of death was determined by forensic pathologist Dr. Philip Lumb identified as a hypnotic anoxic brain injury.

Coroner McKenna said: “I’m here this morning to open the inquest into the death of a young girl.

“I’m really sorry you lost your daughter this way.”

Further test dates will be announced later.
