But minutes before that crucial goal, tempers flared in what became a physical match between the two European powerhouses.
After Scott was fouled by Germany’s Syndey Lohmann, she immediately jumped up to tell her opponent what she thought.
The 35-year-old was seen saying: “F*** off you f***ing p****”.
BBC commentator Robyn Cowen immediately apologized to the offended viewers as it was clear what Scott was saying even with no sound.
Cowen said: “Sorry to all the lip readers.
“I’m not sure you have to be one to find out what Jill Scott thought about it.”
But many viewers loved the passion displayed by the veteran midfielder and one suggested MBE Jill Scott now deserves an OBE.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Watch Jill Scott’s ‘F*** off, you f***ing p****’ if you can. Sound of the summer.”
