Barcelona want Kimmich with a spectacular summer transfer from Bayern Munich – and German is open to a move

It is believed that BARCELONA will make a surprise move for disaffected Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
The 28-year-old Germany captain was said to have been angered by Bayern Munich’s sacking of Julian Nagelsmann in March.
With two games to go, Bayern are currently at the top of the Bundesliga table and lead by a point over long-time rivals Borussia Dortmund, but meet third-placed RB Leipzig in the penultimate game.
After Nagelsmann’s departure, Kimmich experienced a tense situation and a divided atmosphere in the cabin, many players had no idea about the sudden dismissal.
And he is reportedly excited about the Barcelona project after success this season under former star Xavi.
Kimmich could perfectly fit in the role vacated by Sergio Busquets who has announced he is leaving the club and is a cheaper option than Martin Zubimendi.
The 24-year-old Real Sociedad star has four years left with a £51.5million release clause.
He is also likely to spark a bidding war in the transfer market, with Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly among his admirers.
Xavi believes Kimmich ‘would be perfect for Barca’ as the German cites Xavi as his role model.
The 2010 world champion was introduced to Kimmich by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who said: “I have a player who can play in literally any position.”
Kimmich spent eight seasons at Bayern after joining from RB Leipzig in 2015, winning seven Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and a Champions League, including a historic six-fold in 2020.

He has made 45 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists.
Should he move to the Camp Nou, he would rejoin his former teammate Robert Lewandowski, who joined last summer, and compatriot Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
The Polish striker has scored 21 goals this La Liga campaign and helped Barcelona to the La Liga top scorer title, with the German goalkeeper conceding the most goals.
Barcelona are also being linked with the signing of Athletic Club centre-back Inigo Martinez at Xavi’s request and could also make an emotional return of club legend Lionel Messi from PSG.
