BARCELONA eye Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico as a possible alternative to Marcos Alonso.
The left-back, 29, seems to have plenty of admirers this summer as a number of clubs including Brighton vie for his signature.
The Argentine has been at Ajax since 2018 and was an important part of the squad that reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019.
However, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Tagliafico would demand a fee of just £4.3million.
Barca reportedly tried to sign Tagliafico in January and the player reportedly told Ajax he wants to leave this summer.
But it seems the Catalan giants are vying for his signature.
In addition to Brighton, Sevilla and Lyon are also said to be interested in the experienced defender’s move.
The French club are looking for a left-back after Manchester United hijacked his move to Tyrell Malacia.
However, Tagliafico is said to prioritize a move to LaLiga.
With Barcelona’s well-known financial woes, a bargain deal for Tagliafico could prove to be a good alternative to Alonso.
