Barcelona ‘confident’ Christensen and Azpilicueta will sign dual free transfers following talks with Chelsea players

BARCELONA is confident they can strike a deal with Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta, reports say.
Christensen and Azilicueta both contracts expire in June and have yet to agree new terms with the Blues, who are also facing the prospect of losing Antonio Rudiger as a free agent.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barca are still keeping an eye on the defensive duo and are lining up to strengthen after an unsuccessful campaign.
The Blaugrana contacted Azpilicueta, who was told they would wait for him to decide between them and the west Londoners.
The Catalan giants provided Chelsea captain a two-year contract with the option to renew it one more time.
Romano tweeted: “Barcelona has confirmed to Cesar Azpilicueta that they are ready to await his final decision between Chelsea and FCB.
“Barca are confident now – but it’s about life, family and more.
“Barcelona Bidding on the table: contract until June 2024 plus option for next season. “

Barcelona have also been in “direct negotiations” with Christensen’s representatives since January.
Xavi’s side have improved their ability to buy central defenders but still face competition from Bayern Munich.
Romano more: “The situation of Andreas Christensen. The deal is now in progress with Barcelona – they are in direct negotiations with his agent since January together with Bayern.
“Barca have now improved their bid after new face-to-face contacts and that’s why they feel ‘confident’. Bayern are still in the race.”
