Meghan Schiller, former Miss Eyes Ireland, resident of KDKA, chatted with festivalgoers at Michell’s Bar and Grill in downtown Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Bar owner, Jim Mitchell, told KDKA that the holiday is just the beginning of a lucrative streak, aided by nice weather and March Madness basketball.

Mitchell is hoping the nice weather will bring more people out this week, and he’s switched all the TVs to KDKA-TV for basketball.
His family’s establishment celebrated 116 years in business and he is grateful for surviving the pandemic.
“I recall on that day, we were the only ones with cable downtown. You cannot move here. It was before cell phones and everything,” says Mitchell. “And we still get a good crowd for that. People were calling and asking if we would turn on the TV, so this was the right time for that. “
The bar plans to host Irish quizzes and serve up some Irish stews all day on Thursdays, and people can watch games on one of the bar’s many televisions.
