Alison, 48, was seen on stage with her co-host Richard, 65, at the start of the ceremony.
However, fans were quick to note that the star didn’t return to the podium when the announcements began.
Instead, Alison was seen seated in a studio away from the main ceremony as she interviewed celebs behind the scenes.
She then briefly returned to the stage alongside Richard to announce Julieanne Moore.
Fans were disappointed with the news and took to Twitter to complain that Alison was no longer seen.
They slammed that she should have been “on stage alongside Richard” as they begged, “This show needs more Alison.”
“Alison Hammond should have been on stage with Richard the whole time,” said one, while a second agreed, “Alison Hammond is an absolute delight. She should take the helm.”
“I haven’t seen Alison Hammond. A third chimed in, while a fourth said: “This show needs more Alison Hammond.”
A fifth wrote: “This interview with Alison Hammond that just got spliced between the awards just doesn’t work.”
While a sixth concluded: Can we please have less of these awards-winning people and more of Alison Hammond?
It comes after Alison looked slimmer than ever as she prepared for one of the biggest jobs of her career.
Last night Alison had a red carpet rehearsal – and the kind of glamor that will be on display tonight.
She was among the guests at the Bafta Nominees Party at the National Gallery.
Emerging in a strapless black dress with big gold stars on it, she looked sensational as she posed for the camera.
Alison spent much of the day getting ready for the show in her suite – and woke up early in her elegant suite at the Savoy Hotel.
