WASHINGTON – An Aurora man was arrested for allegedly attacking law enforcement on the Capitol on January 6 with a flagpole.
James Robert Elliott, 24, of Aurora, is facing charges of civil disorder, assaulting, resisting or obstructing certain officers with a dangerous weapon and entering and staying in a building or Limited bases with dangerous or deadly weapons.
Federal authorities believe that Elliott, also known as Jim Bob Elliott, illegally used the flagpole to attack officers while on Capitol grounds.
Elliot was arrested Monday in Batavia.
In the 11 months from January 6, more than 700 individuals was arrested in nearly 50 states on charges related to the break-in of the US Capitol.
