Atletico Madrid ‘wants Liverpool star Roberto Firmino to join Klopp to lose another of his Big 3 after Mane’s departure’

LIVERPOOL are reportedly set to lose the second member of their infamous ‘big three’ in as many summers.

Following Sadio Mane’s departure last summer, Roberto Firmino is expected to follow by leaving Anfield next summer.

The Brazilian’s contract expires in 2023 and despite a strong start to the season, he doesn’t appear to be rewarded with a new deal.

Instead, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone wants to offer Firmino an escape route.

The energetic boss already has a stacked front line that includes Antoine Griezmann and Joao Felix.

However, according to TodoFichajes, he believes Firmino would be the perfect player to complement them.

Firmino’s style offers an almost unique take on the forward position.

He’s more than comfortable dropping low to make room for his teammates and can also lead the team’s press with equal proficiency.

His exploits were key as Liverpool won the league title, allowing Mane and Mohamed Salah to shine bright through his selfless style.

And at Atletico, such hard-working players are a necessity.

But Firmino’s time in the Premier League may not be fully played out with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Spanish publication also report that Newcastle have a common interest and could be the only obstacle preventing a summer move to the Wanda Metropolitano.

But Italian side Juventus could also rekindle their interest after being reprimanded in the summer.
