As Gervonta Davis amazingly predicted the seventh-round KO of Ryan Garcia to fight before the brutal body shot

GERVONTA DAVIS beat Ryan Garcia in seven rounds – just as he predicted.

A disgusting body shot left Garcia agonizingly unable to beat the count, having previously straightened up in the second.

When asked for his prediction ahead of the fight, Davis said, “Knockout in the seventh or eighth round.”

And his words rang true as the left center closed the show in the Superfight in Las Vegas.

When asked about the prediction, Davis, 28, admitted: “I was just trying to get inside his head.

“I really don’t know until I get in there with my opponent. I came in with him and felt like he was second to none in terms of ability.”

Garcia, 24, suffered a delayed reaction and despite his best efforts to beat the count, he was unable to do so.

He said: “He just caught me with a good shot.

“I don’t want to apologize. He caught me with a good shot, I just couldn’t recover and that was it.”

“That’s all I have to say, he caught me with a good body shot, he sneaked under me and got me good.

“I won’t say anything, but yeah, I couldn’t breathe. I wanted to get up again, but I just couldn’t get up.”

Davis wanted his tall rival to bounce back, but deep down he knew the damage had been brutally done.

He said: “I saw the look on his face and that made me want to bring it to him.

“It was a good shot. I thought he would get up. I like to play mind games.

“When he looked at me, I looked at him like I was going to say ‘get up,’ but he shook his head and said no.”
