Arthur’s parents are responsible for his death but the door lock also plays a part

It would be a mistake to blame the lockdown on the miserable fate of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.

But there’s something in it.

The closure of schools at the height of the Covid panic also eliminated a crucial opportunity to discover 130 bruises on this poor boy's body.

That’s right, Arthur’s cruel father and vile stepmother caused the physical torture that caused this poor boy to die. Let’s hope there’s a special place in hell for both of you.

And yes, social services failed to protect a vulnerable child who was reported to be the victim of unimaginable violence.

But the closure of schools at the height of the Covid panic also took away a crucial opportunity to discover 130 bruises on this poor boy’s body.

Surely his absence from class will be noted.

However, with millions of children now being beaten and immune, 200,000 students are absent from classes today as militia teachers and Sage communists insist on working from home.

That, warned Children’s Commissioner Rachel de Souza, would put an entire generation’s chances at life in jeopardy.

When asked about the failure of police and social services to save young Arthur, Dame Rachel – appointed by Boris Johnson to promote and protect the rights of all children – flatly blamed door locking.

She told the BBC Andrew Marr: “I have no doubt the locking of the doors was such a shock that it weakened the support systems.

“It’s been a terrible time for the whole nation and that’s why we should never close schools again.

“School is where children want to go.

“We need teachers to dig in and ask why kids aren’t in school – to go out there and bring them in.”

In her plea directly to the Prime Minister, she added: “I would urge Boris Johnson not to close schools.”

Dame Rachel is talking about the commission’s survey of more than 500,000 children, which revealed scars from closing.

“Children worry about being away from school, being outdoors with friends, about their studies and being allowed to play,” she said.

“They miss their elderly relatives, they miss funerals, they don’t know how to make friends. We cannot let them down again.”

We’ve heard from experts about the dire impact of lockdowns on the NHS, street shopping, expat holidays and individual liberties.

This is a heartfelt plea on behalf of young people who depend on their elders and their superiors and volunteer in turn to take a stab to protect their mother and father.

Dame Rachel said: “This is a selfless generation. “We should be very grateful to them.”

The impact of Covid on children is one of the unintended consequences of the once unimaginable social confinement – invented by communist China and swallowed up by the West.

Thousands more have suffered from non-Covid conditions such as cancer, heart and kidney disease and mental health problems in children and the elderly.

The pandemic has caused a perhaps irreversible change in the way we live our lives, from loneliness and insecurity to an increase in petty and serious crime.

A new drug epidemic has been triggered by the absence of authority and the obsession with Covid to exclude everything else.

Police have thwarted drug control by turning a blind eye and abandoning the streets to gangs of howling hoodies.

So today, the stench of burning fills the air, alleged drug trafficking is rampant in the House of Commons and Wembley has been attacked by a bunch of thugs running on cocaine.

Why should the police care when elected politicians surrender to activists, illegal immigrants and a vicious blame game on race and gender?

Voters – especially Tory voters – were seriously fed up. Many people are watching Red Wall hero Nigel Farage’s nightly GB News show.

This explains the latest boom in diversion therapy from Number 10.

So ministers are considering deploying sniffer dogs in Parliament to catch MPs and staff sponsoring murderous criminal gangs for a few sniffs of Class A drugs.

There was a discussion of the UK Bill of Rights in lieu of European Union laws regarding ships passing through the Channel.

And maybe support Free Press against the likes of Meghan Markle.

There is also encouragement for victims of the cancellation culture like J.K. Rowling and pilloried college presidents. All good news.

But did anything really happen?

As always with BoJo, you can believe it when you see it.

BOJO lose weight

FATNESS is a Covid killer, said timid Boris Johnson after a near-fatal emergency last year.

At 5ft 9in and 5:30pm, the Prime Minister confessed: “My friends, I’m too fat.”

Modeling chronic overweight, the fattest man in Western Europe, BoJo embarked on a calorie-counting regimen overseen by his slimline wife, Carrie.

He lost 26lb blubber.

After researching recent TV pictures, I am sad to announce that he has turned it all back on.

Is this the first official signal that the crisis is coming to an end?
