Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus ‘£45m transfer AGREED’, Raphinha talks advanced, Saliba exit, Lisandro Martinez offer – most recently

Good morning Arsenal fans

Arsenal are set to step up their efforts to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha after agreeing a £45million transfer fee to sign Man City striker Gabriel Jesus.

The 25-year-old winger has two years left on his Elland Road contract but has told Leeds he will not agree any new terms.

Arsenal have already seen an approach rejected this summer but are ready to return with an improved offer, with talks of a deal reportedly at an advanced stage.

The Gunners have also started new negotiations with Ajax over the transfer of 24-year-old Lisandro Martinez.

It has been reported that the Dutch champions have already turned down a £25m offer from Arsenal and are holding a fee closer to their £43m bid price.

In terms of potential spending, reports from RMC have indicated that Marseille will test Arsenal’s resolve to keep William Saliba with a £26million bid.

Saliba impressed on loan at the Stade Velodrome last season and helped Jorge Sampaoli’s side finish second in Ligue 1, but the Gunners would like to finally integrate the centre-back into their first-team squad.

Arsenal legend Paul Merson slammed Hale End graduate Eddie Nketiah, saying he’s not good enough to lead a Champions League push.

He said: “No disrespect to Nketiah but Mikel Arteta has to realize he won’t put you in the top four. Absolutely no chance.

“He doesn’t come in before Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison at Everton and he doesn’t come in at Fulham before Aleksandar Mitrovic and they just got promoted.”
