Arsenal’s £65m transfer of Kai Havertz ‘almost hijacked by European giants at the last minute’

Reports suggest ARSENAL’s transfer to sign Kai Havertz nearly got hijacked by Real Madrid in the 11th minute.
Havertz sealed a £65million move from Chelsea to Arsenal on Wednesday.
However Spanish outlet Relevo have reported that the Gunners were not the only ones trying to land the Germans.
They claim Spanish giants Madrid called at the last minute to convince Havertz to change his mind.
Havertz, 24, was thought to have had an interest in moving to La Liga but ultimately opted to remain in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta seems to have convinced Havertz with his vision of using him in a new position – as an attacking midfielder instead of a striker.
However, fans were shocked by the nature of the announcement after realizing Arsenal had gone to Kepa Arrizabalaga’s WEDDING RECEPTION as part of their announcement video.
The north Londoners were accused of “disrespect” towards the deal, with one fan saying: “You did that at Kepa’s wedding, the disrespectful man!! 🤦♂️.”
Another added: “I’m surprised Kepa didn’t mind, I would have.”
A third wrote: “Havertz married Arsenal on the same day, in the same place, that his former team-mate Kepa got married. The video was shot in front of his former Chelsea teammates. Brutal 😂”

After the move, Arsenal soon agreed a record £105million transfer for the British Premier League, including surcharges for Declan Rice.
The deal sees West Ham receive £100m plus £5m in surcharges, although the structure of the payments is still being negotiated.
Arsenal have also reportedly agreed a transfer fee of £40m (including £4m in surcharges) for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.
Those expenses will see the Gunners pass the £200m mark on their summer spending.
