Why Zubi might have snubbed Arsenal

Martin Zubimendi’s belief in Real Sociedad might have prompted him to snub Arsenal.

Spanish football pundit Terry Gibson – the former Manchester United and Spurs striker – believes the 23-year-old Spanish midfielder has strong ties with his boyhood club.

Gibson told El Tel and Jon’s La Liga Weekly podcast: “There were rumors he turned Arsenal down.

“I think he feels what’s going on LaReal.

“That’s the attraction they have; A lot of these youngsters come through (the academy), locally, they want to play for Real Sociedad.

“It’s their ambition, their dream, and they’re fulfilling it.

“They play for a really good team with a really good coach. A fantastic football club.”
