Arsenal target Ferland Mendy has said he could leave Real Madrid with a transfer fee cut – but the agent’s plans could derail the transfer

FERLAND MENDY could be available for Arsenal at a reduced price – but the star’s agent could complicate a move to the Emirates.

Carlo Ancelotti has opted to use midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as a full-back in big games, with Nacho Fernandez also called up for that role.

It has resulted in Mendy no longer living up to the Bernabeu’s standards and seemingly lowering his price tag.

Arsenal would reportedly need to come up with £52.5million to sign the 27-year-old, whose contract runs until June 2025.

But the mirror The price has now reportedly dropped to just £17.5million as the Spanish side are interested in selling the Mendy this summer.

However, it may not be easy for Arsenal to have the defender’s agent intervene.

The same report claims that Mendy’s representatives are trying to speak to Tottenham.

While that could pose a problem for the Gunners, it is understood Mendy is interested in competing in the Champions League next season, which is now beyond Tottenham’s reach.

Arsenal’s two left-backs are currently Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney.

But the Ukraine starter is out for the remainder of the season through injury and has suffered from beatings during his debut season with the Emirates.

While there is speculation about Tierney’s future in north London, the likes of Newcastle are linked.

Arsenal are hoping some bright summer recruits can help them build a brilliant season.

Despite needing some favors from elsewhere to oust Manchester City to the title, Mikel Arteta is still poised to lead his team to their highest position in the league since 2016.
