ARSENAL have reportedly joined the bidding war for Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who are reporting the Gunners have made a £30m bid for Scamacca.
However, the north Londoners face stiff competition from Inter Milan, who have had an informal deal with the striker for some time.
However, a move for the Italy international has stalled as the Nerazzurri have turned their attention to departing Juventus star Paulo Dybala and Chelsea ace Romelu Lukaku.
Dybala will be a free agent after his Juve contract expires on June 30, while Lukaku is reportedly keen to return to the San Siro after an unfortunate comeback at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal are looking to take advantage of Inter’s distraction and have come in with an offer for Scamacca.
However, it has been claimed that the offer from the Premier League giants is not enough to convince Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali as he has at least £34million plus add-ons ready.
Scamacca has turned heads after an impressive season in Serie A that also earned him the interest of AC Milan, Napoli and Newcastle.
The Italian has recorded 16 goals and one assist in 38 appearances in all competitions this season.
The 23-year-old was so impressive that after some erratic performances he was touted as Italy’s next leading striker by Lazio star Ciro Immobile.

The forward joined Sassuolo from PSV Eindhoven in 2017 and was loaned to Cremonese, Zwolle, Ascoli and Genoa before being established in the senior squad.
During his time with the Neroverdi, Scamacca has scored a total of 16 goals in 41 games.
