The Ivorian’s agent was reportedly spotted at the Nice stadium over the weekend trying to secure a move for his client.

Pepe, 27, has not consistently fulfilled his potential at the Gunners after a massive club-record £72million deal from Lille in 2019.

Back then he scored 22 goals after a sensational season in Ligue 1.

But Pepe couldn’t repeat that success in the Premier League.

He has scored 27 goals in 112 games and is now the second pick behind Bukayo Saka.

With limited minutes and reportedly handsome wages, Mikel Arteta was keen to sack him this summer.

He might not be the only player heading for the exit door in the coming days as Hector Bellerin has been linked with Barcelona and Real Betis moves.

When Pepe joins Nice he will be teamed up with former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.

The club is owned by Jim Ratcliffe who is interested in buying Manchester United and he’s splashing the cash in this transfer window.

They have already signed Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and remain keen on Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

Ratcliffe is using his British connections to secure deals and strengthen the squad as he seeks to take them to the Champions League after narrowly missing out last season.
