Arsenal open talks to sign Real Madrid star

Arsenal opened negotiations with Real Madrid over a potential move for the Spaniard Isco. The 29-year-old has less than eight months left on his current contract with Real Madrid and is said to be keen to leave the club in January.

Based on Todo Fichajes, Arsenal has opened talks with representatives of Isco over a possible move to Emirates Stadium in January. The Gunners believe they can secure a discounted move for the Real Madrid star like Los Blancos will be reluctant to lose him on a free transfer next summer.

Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in the summer of 2013 in a deal worth 30 million euros. The attacking midfielder has made more than 340 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions and scored 52 goals for the club.

Isco helped Real Madrid win two La Ligas, a Copa del Rey and four Champions Leagues during his time with the club. The 29-year-old made 38 international appearances for Spain and contributed 12 goals.

Isco fell into form at Real Madrid under the management of Zinedine Zidane last season. He made just 29 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, most of which were substitutes in the second half.

He is heavily linked with leaving the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. However, new coach Carlo Ancelotti convinced Isco to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place in the starting XI.

Isco has failed to turn the tide at Real Madrid this season. He has only made six appearances in all competitions for the club.

Arsenal are looking to build on their current form, they have won 3 and drawn 2 in the last 5 matches in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta is said to be looking to strengthen his squad by adding an experienced midfielder in January.

Real Madrid are said to be eager to part ways with Isco in January. The Spaniard is one of the club’s highest earners and has been deemed redundant by Carlo Ancelotti.

A move to Arsenal could help rejuvenate Isco’s career and improve Luis Enrique’s chances of being in Spain’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Isco’s technical ability and attack speed will likely match Arsenal’s strong attacking play.

Mikel Arteta possesses a series of promising young talents in his squad including Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Sambi Lokonga and Ben White. The Arsenal manager is said to want to add some experience and creativity to his squad to boost in the second half of the campaign. | Arsenal open talks to sign Real Madrid star
