Karl says Arsenal bench is Art of Touch

Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff have not lost their love for former Oxford United manager Karl Robinson.

Robinson faced off against Arteta and co as Arsenal paid Oxford a visit in the FA Cup third round.

But despite the 3-0 defeat – thanks to a brace from Eddie Nketiah and a header from Mohamed Elneny – it was the antics of Arteta and his staff rather than his team’s performance that irked Robinson.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “I’ve seen it first hand (Arteta’s antics) but it’s not necessarily always him.

“I think there’s one or two behind him who don’t behave great at times, which shocked me.

“Listen, they berated us for going down and wasting time. Tell you what, we’re going to play Arsenal, right, and we’re going to give you all the ball for 95 minutes.

“Obviously we will rely on standard situations and longer throw-ins. It’s an integral part of what we must do, but you’re better than us. Then they attacked me for it.

“I think I said a thing or two and maybe I was wrong. They called me all kinds of things, it was pretty funny. One of his employees called me a scammer, this and that, and I said ‘thank you’.”
