Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira ‘agrees a three-year deal with Galatasaray’ with Gunners suffering a £16million strike

ARSENAL midfielder Lucas Torreira is reportedly set to join Turkish giants Galatasaray on an initial three-year deal.
The Uruguay international was made available for transfer this summer with the 26-year-old being considered overwhelmed by Mikel Arteta.

And with the player only one year left on his contract, the Gunners are looking to recoup some of the £22m they invested in him in 2018 from Sampdoria.
Torreira is not in Arteta’s plans as the 2021 LaLiga winner is one of seven squad members up for sale.
After spending the last two years on loan at Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina respectively, Torreira finally wants to leave north London permanently.
Valencia have been touted as a possible option with reports that he has even agreed personal terms with the Mestalla team.
Meanwhile, Roma boss Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in bringing Torreira back to Serie A.
But acc AS MarkaTorreira is about to merge with the Süper-Lig team Galatasaray.
It has been said that Galatasaray will initially spend £4.6m, with a further £1.25m to be paid in add-ons.
Torreira is said to have signed a three-year deal with an option for a further year until 2026.

It was said that a medical should now take place in Istanbul before the transfer is officially announced.
Fabrizio Romano has also stated that Torreira is close to a move to Galatasaray.
He tweeted: “Arsenal received Galatasaray’s proposal for Lucas Torreira.
“It would be a permanent deal, waiting for the player to agree on personal terms.
“Arsenal are ready to accept and sell Torreira immediately.”
And Italian reporter Alessio Lento has revealed he will earn around £2.5million a year plus bonuses at Galatasaray.
