He has now been handed a one-game ban over the incident.
Azeez picked up the torch as his side celebrated an injury-time equalizer in Cardiff on 14 January that ended 1-1 on 14 January.
The missile was fired onto the field by a member of the crowd.
The young midfielder then walked over and removed him from the pitch by throwing him a few yards over the touchline.
Azeez’s ban means he will miss the league game against Blackburn on February 6th.
He joined the Latics earlier this month after a brief stint with Spanish side Ibiza.
Azeez was also on a short-term loan at Portsmouth from August 2021 to January 2022.
The Camden-born midfielder joined Arsenal as a young boy in 2008.

He was in the Gunners’ Academy for 12 years but has only made one senior appearance so far.
This came as an 83rd-minute substitute in a 4-2 Europa League win over Irish club Dundalk in December 2020.
Azeez has also been capped by several English sides in the under-20s age group.
