Arsenal legend Ian Wright makes ‘strange’ transfer admission about Tottenham star and Golden Boot winner Son Heung-min

ARSENAL legend Ian Wright is delighted that Tottenham star Son Heung-min has won the Premier League Golden Boot – as it gives the striker something to brag about.

The 28-year-old South Korean shared the Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mo Salah after both had scored 23 Premier League goals.

Even more notably, Son pulled off the feat without scoring a single penalty and he’s impressed Wright this season.

The pundit believes Son is one of the best players in the Premier League and is delighted the award gives the attacker something for his efforts.

Wright told Premier League Productions: “I’m delighted he won because he’s not being linked (away from the club) and it’s odd.

“He has pace. He finishes both feet. He works backwards and can do anything.

“Son can get the ball in his own half and run through the whole team.

“I can’t understand why he isn’t associated with more teams? But what makes me happy for him is that he has something to show to be a top player in this league.”

Son may stay under the radar, but he’s actually one of the deadliest finishers in Europe.

Only Erling Haaland can match him for accuracy, with the only two players having a goal conversion rate of over 25 percent on non-penalty shots.

And while Son might not get enough praise in England, he is revered in his home country and was greeted as a hero when he returned to South Korea with his golden boot this week.

There is no murmuring that the striker could leave north London this summer amid news that Spurs are set to receive a £150million windfall from owners ENIC.

Antonio Conte is expected to stay and so is Harry Kane, meaning Son could be dreaming of his first silverware with the club.
