On the way, he said Crawley’s website: “I am joining a club that has a great history which we should undoubtedly embrace and we also look back on an exciting new start on many levels both on and off the pitch.

“I was very impressed with Eben and Preston’s vision for the club. After discussions I knew I was working for smart and genuine people who share the positive attitude and energy to move this club forward.

“I will work extremely hard and put my heart and soul into it every day to ensure that we are successful.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity and the trust that Eben, Preston and the others I’ve spoken to have shown in me. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone at the club.

“Together we can see Crawley Town as a club that people love to visit and where players and staff enjoy coming to work every day.

“Crawley will be a positive place to bring our local community together and attract the next generation of fans worldwide to the club.
