Arsenal icon, Ian Wright’s grandson D’Margio Wright-Phillips, signs new contract with Stoke days after first goal in the Championship

ARSENAL icon Ian Wright’s grandson D’Margio Wright-Phillips has been awarded a new contract by Stoke City just days after scoring his first goal for the club.
D’Margio – whose father is Shaun Wright-Philips – has had a crazy month with the Potters.
20 years old only debuted Stoke in early January in the FA Cup third round match against Leyton Orient.
But Wright-Philips Jnr is just getting started and continued his debut with a stellar performance in his first game of the Championship in Stoke’s win over Hull City a few weeks ago.
And then the winger continued his impressive form by limiting his opening match against Fulham with his first goal.
OK ecstatic and shared his delighted reaction to his nephew’s goal on Twitter.
Now, to kick off a memorable month, Stoke have awarded the youngest Wright a new two-year contract for his significant contributions.

Speaking of Stoke’s decision to give Wright-Philips a new deal, Potters boss Michael O’Neill told club website: “D’Margio trained with the first team for a number of weeks before we decided the time was right to give him a chance.
“He is still a young player with a lot of growth ahead but he has really impressed himself and the coaching staff with his attitude, willingness to learn and deserved the contract. my new.”
The Potters will be hoping Wright-Philips can get them back into the Premier League with his goals.
If the youngster manages to appear in Prem at some point in his career, he will have the opportunity to try and emulate his grandfather’s incredible scoring record.
While at Arsenal, Wright scored 104 goals in just 191 Prem games.
