ARSENAL are “favorites” to sign Youri Tielemans on a free transfer this summer when his contract at Leicester City expires.

However, there was no transfer because the foxes stuck to their playmaker.

Manchester United are keen on Tielemans as the ex-Monaco ace prepares to decide his future.

However, Team Talk claim Mikel Arteta’s arsenal are “overwhelming favourites” to get him.

This is despite the fact that the Premier League leaders have signed midfielder Jorginho from Chelsea after failing to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has also reported that Tielemans will still be on Arteta’s shortlist once the window reopens.

He said: “If Tielemans is available on a free transfer in the summer, different clubs will be keeping an eye on him.

“Arsenal will still be there for sure and we know Tielemans really wanted that move a year ago and was hoping something could happen over the summer, but Arsenal have moved in a different direction.”

Tielemans joined Leicester on loan from Monaco in January 2019 and signed permanently for £32million six months later.

He has played over 200 games for the club, his crowning moment came in 2021 when he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final.

Tielemans helped Leicester ease relegation fears yesterday as he played a key role in their 4-2 win at Aston Villa. Arsenal favorite signs Youri Tielemans in the summer with Leicester ace available on a free transfer
