ARSENAL fans fear the worst after a viral video resurfaced of newcomer Jorginho being passed by an ARBITRATOR.

The Italian moved to the Premier League leaders at the end of January.

Jorginho, 31, left Chelsea for £12million with less than six months on contract after helping the club win the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.

And while Jorginho has many positive aspects of his game, his pace is not one of them.

An old viral video of the midfielder from his Chelsea days has resurfaced as he was passed by a REFEREE.

It happened in Chelsea’s 2-1 home loss to Liverpool in 2019.

The referee Jorginho lost the race against the experienced Michael Oliver.

But the clip has Gunners fans fearing the worst after being treated to the athleticism of Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard in midfield.

One said on Twitter: “This scares me the most.”

Another tweeted: “Jorginho couldn’t pass the referee! We are doomed…”

Jorginho is looking forward to working at Arsenal and says manager Mikel Arteta played a big part in the transfer.

He said: “Mikel Arteta was a huge influence on my decision because I know he’s tried to get me a couple of times before.

“Everything happened so quickly. I was a bit surprised but I took the opportunity of this amazing challenge.

“It’s an important shirt. It’s a great club, a big one, and I’m really excited and happy to be here.

“I will try to bring positive energy, hard work and my experience to help the team. I always bring that with me.

“I’m just trying to help with the experience I’ve had from my time at the other clubs and anything I can do just to help the team achieve more and more, that’s my aim.”

Arteta added: “Jorginho is a player of intelligence, deep leadership skills and a huge amount of Premier League and international experience.

“He’s won a lot of things in his career, but he still has the hunger and the willingness to get involved here.”
