DENIS ZAKARIA has told Borussia Monchengladbach he will turn to the club in the summer – with Arsenal having expressed an interest.
The Bundesliga giants have confirmed the Swiss defensive midfielder, 25, informed them that he WILL will leave at the end of the season.
With his contract expired, Zakaria will be available on a free transfer – with foreign clubs able to start pre-contract negotiations from 1 January.
Barcelona and Manchester City are also said to be very interested.
But report in Germany have suggested Arsenal have made the first move.
The Gunners could offer Zakaria a contract starting July 1 to bring him home for free or land the £24million-rated star for a lower fee in January.
Borussia Monchengladbach may be more tempted to sell next month than lose their star for nothing.

On Wednesday, a statement from Gladbach read: “Denis Zakaria has informed the club of his intention to leave in the summer after five years.”
Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed he has asked his players to inform about their future plans by December 31.
Ahead of the Bundesliga’s winter break, Eberl stated: “I have made it clear to the players that, at the end of the year, I want to settle everything that has nothing to do with the second half of Borussia’s season.
“I want everyone to focus completely on the club, the second half of the season and turning this situation around.
“The players should use the next few days to settle their business.
“We will also make a few decisions, so that everything will be fine as we begin to prepare for the second half of the season.”
Zakaria has joined Gladbach since moving in 2017 from Swiss giants Young Boys.
He has played 118 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 11 goals – including two in nine games this season.
