Arsenal complete £7.5m move for Matt Turner from New England Revolution with goalkeeper coming in the summer

ARSENAL has completed the paperwork for Matt Turner’s £7.5m transfer from New England Revolution side MLS.
And the American goalkeeper will link up with his new Gunners teammates in the summer.
Although fees and contracts have been arranged, he still needs to have a medical check and get a work permit before he can train or compete.
A fee of £7.5m, including add-ons, was agreed between the two clubs during the January transfer window.
However, they decided Turner would stay in the MLS for the second half of the 2021-22 UK campaign.
Aaron Ramsdale surpassed Bernd Leno in the dissection order at the Emirates.
Germans, therefore, are expected to leave when the transfer window reopens.
He could join rich Newcastle if Toon avoids the drop point.

Turner, 27, joined the New England Revolution from Jersey Express in 2016.
And he became a key player for the U.S. national team, being named the tournament’s goalkeeper in their win at Concacaf Gold Cup in August.
Turner helped win over Arsenal fans before he even arrived in the UK by Sign Gunner’s jersey while on international duty.
USA Head Coach Gregg Berhalter hails Turner’s ‘wonderful story’ before moving to North London.
And he thinks his man can challenge Ramsdale for 1st place under the leadership of Mikel Arteta.
“It’s just an incredible story and it all depends on him, his work ethic, his belief in himself and his never giving up attitude,” says Berhalter.
“It’s a great story and Matt is a great guy, a great teammate and we’re so lucky to have him.
“He looks like a player who will Arsenalsure.”
