Arsenal blow as Brighton refuse to be forced into selling Moises Caicedo despite Star’s transfer request on Instagram

BRIGHTON will reportedly not be forced to sell Moises Caicedo despite the midfielder’s pleas on social media.
Caicedo, 21, has been linked with a move from Amex Stadium since the transfer window opened in early January.

And on Friday he took to Instagram to force a record-breaking transfer.
In an official statement, he wrote: “I am grateful to Mr Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to get into the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play soccer with a smile and with heart.
“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor background in Santa Domingo, Ecuador.
“My dream is to always be the most successful player in Ecuador’s history.
“I’m proud to be able to bring Brighton a record transfer fee which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to thrive.
“The fans have taken me to their hearts and they will always be in my heart, so I hope they understand why I want to take this great opportunity.”
This comes just hours after Arsenal submitted a £60m bid for the midfielder which was quickly rejected by Brighton.
Despite Arsenal’s strong interest in Caicedo’s signing, the Seagulls remain adamant he will not leave before the window closes next week.
That’s according to transfer journalist Alex Crook and TalkSPORT, who have also reported that Brighton officials are awaiting a new offer from the Gunners.
