With the added bonus of a Champions League return, the Spaniard is looking to land a number of reinforcements this summer.

They want to pay a club a record £90m to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

We reported earlier this week that Chelsea’s Germany striker has also become a shock target.

However, boss Todd Boehly is not ready to let him go on the cheap as Real Madrid are also in the running for his signing.

We’ve reported how the Blues put a £70m price tag on Havertz, who joined for around £62m three years ago.

Arsenal want to pay a lot less and hope the fact that Real Madrid aren’t willing to pay more than £50m will help them sign him for a reduced fee.

Now Sky Sport journalist Angelo Mangiante claims that Havertz is “very close to Arsenal”.

A third club is also believed to be in the running for the 24-year-old, but who that is is not yet known.

Havertz made 47 appearances last season, scoring nine goals.

The former Leverkusen man is a fan favorite in west London due to his Champions League win over Manchester City in 2021.

And Havertz will remain at Stamford Bridge until 2025.

However, he is likely to leave the club this summer as part of a major makeover of the Chelsea squad following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.
