ARSENE WENGER claims Arsenal are second favorites to win the Premier League behind Manchester City.
Wenger believes the Gunners have what it takes to win their first title since he guided them to their historic Invincibles campaign in 2004.
The north Londoners are leaders, separating them from second-placed City by just a point after winning seven of their first eight league games.
Wenger still believes Mikel Arteta’s men are ‘just behind’ the reigning champions.
However, the legendary boss argues City could end up focusing too much on the Champions League, the only major trophy they are elusive and which could allow Arsenal to step in.
Wenger tells be in sports: “Personally, I would rank them right behind City.
“The second best team has a good chance of winning the Premiership.
“Man City will eventually focus heavily on the Champions League.”
Wenger doesn’t expect much resistance from either Liverpool or Chelsea, who have had a bumpy start to the season.
The 72-year-old also doesn’t think Tottenham have what it takes to challenge City after Saturday’s derby defeat.

Wenger added: “We don’t know anything about Liverpool but they are already 11 points behind, 10 points behind Man City is a mountain to climb.
“Chelsea aren’t looking consistent at the moment. They haven’t found the confidence to fight to win the league.”
Wenger concluded: “Tottenham by my DNA I can’t be.”
