ARGENTINA will be determined to snatch France’s crown in a thrilling World Cup final THIS AFTERNOON – and there’s one not to be missed.
Croatia fell victim to a masterclass from Lionel Messi in Tuesday’s dominant semi-final match as Argentina progressed.
But things will certainly be more difficult for the little magician as he meets a French side who managed to put down the high-flying Morocco in the semi-finals.
However, it’s all set for Messi to bid farewell on a perfect note with the golden boot also up for grabs… unless Kylian Mbappe has something to say about it.

How did you come here?
Argentina got off to a nightmare start to their tournament with a surprise 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia.
But they fought back to the top of Group C with 2-0 victories over Mexico and Poland and set up a round of 16 encounter with Australia.
After beating the Socceroos 201, they scraped past Holland on penalties in the quarter-finals before racing past Croatia.
France also won two and lost one of their group games – although the loss to Tunisia came after victories against Australia and Denmark.

Les Bleus edged out Poland and then England in that dramatic quarter-final, before finally closing out Morocco’s run on Wednesday night to secure their place in back-to-back finals.
What’s new from the team and are there any injuries to worry about?
Neither side are struggling with suspensions after yellow cards were wiped out after quarters and may remain unchanged after semi-final victories.
Argentina can welcome full-backs Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel back from their one-game bans, while Lisandro Martinez could return to the starting XI if Lionel Scaloni opts for a chain five.
Dayot Upamecano and Adrien Rabiot missed out on Morocco’s win through illness as France kept their first clean sheet – but hope to return.
The rest of the team should remain the same – although Karim Benzema could be a shock on the bench as he’s back in Real Madrid training.
Who will the star men be?
Well, obviously Messi and Kylian Mbappe are the two most important men for their respective nations – and all eyes will be on who comes out on top.
Elsewhere, Julian Alvarez will want to continue his two goals in the semis while Enzo Fernandez may be tasked with stopping Antoine Griezmann.
On the other hand, Griezmann and Olivier Giroud will be hoping for their scoring chances in the final.
Aurelien Tchouameni is in strong form in midfield while Raphael Varane will lead his defence.
What is head to head?
The two heavyweights of international football met a total of 12 times – the first time at the first World Cup in 1930.
Argentina has six wins, France has three wins while there have been three draws.
But the French prevailed in their most recent meeting – a thrilling 4-3 win in the Round of 16 at Russia 2018.
