CONOR BENN is getting ready to put on weight for a second generation clash for the big bucks with Chris Eubank Jr.
After Chris Jr’s son Brighton secured a impressive point win over Liam Williams on SaturdayNigel Benn’s 25-year-old son said he imagined his chances in a potential weight class fight.
Middleweight Eubank Jr, 32 years old, entertained with the idea but questioned the seriousness of the welding weight about reviving the rivalry between two legends their iconic father shared.
But Benn – currently finishing the world title at the 10kg 7 limit – insists he is seriously considering packing down a few pounds, and also making big money, with the move towards the stomp at the level. Eubank Jr’s 11th 6lbs.
When asked if his next match could be against Eubank on the 11th floor average (154lbs), he bellows: “Any day of the week!
“I am currently walking at super average (12th) but if I lift my head I still have abs. People think I’m talking smoke but that’s reality.
“I am circling at super average so getting 154lbs (11th) is no problem, I feel good at 154lbs.
“I hit the middleweight in my gym and flew the super middleweight from France for my last match.

“I like fighting the bigger guys, I like my chance, I’ve been in heavy cruiser candidates before.
“They go to the gym thinking they can impose their weight on you and then I throw 2-3-4 punches and they don’t want to know.”
When pressed to see if he would delay his world championship ambitions at 147 lbs for the novelty fight, he explained: “It’s a question of; Do I prefer money or belts?
“In the current situation, I prefer belts all day because the money always follows. The main audience always stays to get those belts.
“I’m in the top five with every sanctioning agency and I’m always on the phone to Eddie Hearn asked how I got a world title.
“And once I hit that goal, it’s going to be ‘show me the money’.”
