Anthony Joshua’s body double meets Oleksandr Usyk after filming with Brit in Saudi Arabia ahead of rematch

ANTHONY JOSHUA’s body doubles joined Oleksandr Usyk for a photo, with the two heavyweights in Saudi Arabia ahead of their much-anticipated rematch.

Britain’s Joshua met Usyk for the first time since their fight in September 2021.

Usyk left Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles, outclassing Joshua in his own backyard.

The pair will reunite inside the square circle and meet in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

Joshua filmed some promotional footage at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium while also using his body double.

The doppelganger was used to save time and film the shots where Joshua was not needed.

Joshua said on Matchroom’s YouTube channel: “Did you see the body twice?

“We worked with him a lot, he’s a good guy. It’s from Brummie.

“I could tell you all the things he’s been in, which you wouldn’t even do [realise].

“He was on Lynx, he was on Under Armour, he was on Lucozade, which is a Nigerian program, now Saudi.

“We use him a lot, he’s a cool guy.”

And it was at a promotional event later in the day that Joshua’s double met Usyk.

As he approached Usyk and his team, the double was asked if he was a boxer.

He replied, “No, no, I’m a banker.”

Usyk then posed for a comical photo before they went their separate ways.

Stepping back into the ring with Usyk, Joshua says that if he wins he will “get the recognition I deserve”.

He explained in an interview with ESPN: “I feel like beating Usyk will give me back the recognition I deserve

“And I will get the admiration for being a real boxing legend.

“I fought for the heavyweight championship in my 16th fight; I felt like it was somehow being overlooked.

“This is my 12th straight title fight – I just feel like sometimes even though we’ve sold out arenas and it’s good to be popular, I don’t really care about this stuff. I just want respect in the division.”
