BOXER Anthony Joshua is set to be such a big hit on CBeebie’s Bedtime Stories that he’s already signed up for a rematch.
Last week it was announced that the ex-world champion will read Ezra Jack Keats’ children’s fairy tale The Snowy Day.
A date has not yet been set for this, but I can reveal that tomorrow he will be reading another story on the children’s channel – Ravi’s Roar by Tom Percival.
A TV insider said: “The response to AJ on CBeebie’s Bedtime Stories has been huge. There is so much excitement.
“The BBC were keen to book him for another session, which he was more than happy to do. It’s a privilege to be asked twice and he considers it a great honor.”
AJ follows in the footsteps of Harry Styles, Tom Hardy and Chris Hemsworth.
Ravis Roar tells the story of an angry boy who learns to express and understand his feelings. The Snowy Day is about a boy named Peter who puts on his snow suit and steps out of his house into a wintry world.
When he was published in 1962, he was among the first African American characters to appear in a major children’s book.
Kate Winslet and Richard E Grant are some of the big names reading a story on CBeebies over Christmas. But none packs as much clout as AJ.
DAVID KID ‘HEAD CAPTURE
ONLY Fools And Horses legend David Jason is planning a cartoon return with his own series.
Voiced by 80’s favorite Danger Mouse, who is also a qualified helicopter pilot, has come up with a character called Olly the Heli that is “in development”.
David revealed in his new book The Twelve Dels of Christmas that his creation is a young helicopter with a friendly face who is “a bit misbehaving” and is “a little bit like Thomas the Tank Engine”.
David got the idea during a visit to an airfield last year when he was being flown in a Gazelle helicopter by astronaut Tim Peake.
He added, “‘You wanna land it?’ asked Tim generously as we returned to the airport. I didn’t want to push my luck. “I think I’ll leave that to you, Tim,” I said.
“So that’s how the idea of Olly the Heli came about – a little production journey that was still in development at the time of writing. We’ll see where it ends.”
PRUE LEITH wants “someone I heard about” to replace host Matt Lucas on Bake Off.
At Virgin Radio, the Channel 4 show judge said she had no idea who co-host Noel Fielding was when he joined the series.
Prue added, “I never understood Matt and Noel’s jokes.”
WONDER MOVIE IS THE BEST CHOICE
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE was voted Best Christmas Movie of All Time by Radio Times.
The 1946 holiday classic, starring James Stewart, topped a readers’ poll.
More than one in five voters – a total of 1,650 – named the film as their favourite.
Slightly criminal, Will Ferrell’s Elf only made it to No. 4, while The Muppet Christmas Carol and Home Alone took No. 2 and 3, and Love Actually made up the rest of the top 5.
The black-and-white film also topped last year’s poll. But Die Hard, which was at #4, slipped out of the top 5 and down to #6 in 2022.
Bruce Willis would tear his hair out if he had any.
GARY: I AM ON BABY MISSION
GARY LUCY’s romance with Celebs Go Dating co-star Laura Anderson could be getting even more serious.
The couple, who met on the E4 dating show, have previously spoken out about having children together.
And father-of-four Gary says his manhood is so strong Laura could already be expecting.
He said: “We are smitten. We spoke to children. I mean I’m pretty potent so she might be pregnant already! I already have four children, but I want more. I’ve always wanted children. I love children.”
The former Hollyoaks actor says a big incentive to having more children is naming one Gary – as the name is dying out.
He added, “I want a boy because I want another little Gary — keep it up as I hear the name is dying out and I think that would be a real shame.”
Think of us Rodericks.
LAURA A SUCTION TOOL FOR PIGS
LAURA BINGHAM has left fans of her TV adventurer husband Ed Stafford stunned – after claiming she was breastfeeding a pig.
The fellow researcher and mother of three was caring for a piglet when it was rejected by its mother on her farm.
The piglet was now welcomed into the family home. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “So now I can cross a piglet off my bucket list!
“Did you know that indigenous communities do this?! So is it normal ok?! I force fed her with a syringe and then when she woke up a bit more she didn’t want a bottle so I was like what the heck?!”
We all know that, Laura.
STRICTLY runner-up Helen Skelton said the pros on the show didn’t want Hamza Yassin taking home the trophy alongside Jowita Przystal.
Speaking on her Radio 5 show, she said they wanted her partner Gorka to triumph in the final on his third time, adding: “You could see how disappointed we were.”
