Heche also sustained a severe chest fracture as a result of the accident, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said.

Anne Heche was an actress, writer, and producer born May 25, 1969 in Aurora, Ohio.

The actress made headlines when she was reportedly driving at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour in the Mar Vista area before the crash.

Video footage showed Anne appearing to be speeding down a residential street in her blue Mini Cooper.

The star crashed into an apartment complex garage ahead of the horrific wreck that set Heche’s car ablaze.

People tried to help her but she just drove away. Then she lurched through some hedges before finally falling again.

Ellen DeGeneres’ ex was in a coma for nearly a week before a rep announced she “is not expected to survive.”

A Los Angeles Police Department official said Anne’s blood work after the Aug. 5 crash revealed the presence of narcotics.

Los Angeles Police Department officials told TMZ that the actress was under the influence of cocaine and possibly fentanyl at the time of the accident.

Police are unsure if fentanyl was in her blood at the time of the accident.

“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and to thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses who cared for Anne at Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital,” said a representative of Anne’s family before her death.

“Unfortunately, as a result of her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and is in a critically comatose state.

“She is not expected to survive.

“It has long been her decision to donate her organs and she is being kept alive to determine if any are viable.”

LIFE AS A STAR

Anne had recently wrapped up filming on a Lifetime film called Girl In Room 13 before the crash.

Anne and her former partner, talk show legend Ellen DeGeneres, were one of Hollywood’s first openly gay couples.

They dated from 1997 to 2000 when they amicably split.

Anne, who competed on Dancing With The Stars in 2020, has a 13-year-old son with her ex-husband James Tupper.

James, who met the star while he was working as a cameraman, asked fans for their “thoughts and prayers” after Friday’s crash.
