The stats have resulted in two ‘ideal’ bodies being mocked, including Jennifer Aniston’s arms and shoulders for women and Tom Cruise’s eyes for men.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, featured prominently in the survey, with British women wishing they had her nose, legs and hair.

While Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo is the man men want to look like most, he comes out on top in terms of abs, shoulders, legs, arms and even chin.

In terms of skin texture, George Clooney and Cheryl Cole took the crown, while Davina McCall beat women half their age on the abs list.

And after her recent comeback to the spotlight, Adele came in second for most wanted eyes and third for hair.

Other famous faces Brits inspired to look like Beyonce, Tom Daley and Anthony Joshua.

Cheryl Cooper, patient experience manager for plastic surgery providers Pall Mall, which commissioned the study, said: “It’s been exciting and fun to see who the British public likes to look like and who who inspired plastic surgery.

“The same names appear on many lists, showing who we are most inspired by – mainly Kate Middleton and Cristiano Ronaldo, suggesting that men want muscle and athletic ability. while women want a classic and timeless look.

“It’s not uncommon for plastic surgery patients to be inspired by others they’ve met, and images of celebrities help them articulate their ultimate goal.”

The study also found that one in eight adults had plastic surgery, with the most common procedures being breast enlargement, hair transplant and tummy tuck.

More than a quarter of them have also had dermal fillers, scar removal or correction, and liposuction.

Of the 12% who have completed work, 42% were inspired by a celebrity’s appearance.

And 4 out of 5 of those who have had surgery openly admit that they have had plastic surgery while 60% would have done more.

The main reasons behind performing the procedure include improved confidence (69%) and feeling more attractive (55%).

But many have had surgery after a life-changing experience such as childbirth (50%), an accident or illness (48%), and weight loss (43%).

Before the cutlery, people think of it as an average of four years.

Among those who haven’t, 23% would consider plastic surgery, face or neck lift, tummy tuck and liposuction as their top things to do.

Social media, celebrity photos, and reality TV shows are the top sources of inspiration for people to consider surgery.

More than 13% of those polled via OnePoll said lip locking inspired them to get plastic surgery because they spend more time taking care of their appearance.

Pall Mall facial plastic surgeon Ullas Raghavan adds: “Although images of celebrities and influencers are a good way for patients to articulate what they want to achieve from surgery, but ultimately our job is to make sure that the patient has realistic expectations and understands what can be achieved.

“Most of the patients we see want to improve a part of their body that is keeping them from enjoying their day-to-day lives – they usually consider surgery for about four to six years and understand that it’s not something. that is taken lightly.

“In this case, plastic surgery can be truly life-changing.”
