Andrew Tate’s lawyer says ‘being a controversial figure is not a crime’ as she defends the imprisoned influencer on TalkTV

ANDREW Tate and his brother, though controversial, have not committed a crime, their attorney says.

Tina Glandian stressed that while the couple has been condemned worldwide, no one has yet been charged.

She told Piers Morgan’s Uncensored that the brothers have faced “great injustice” since their arrest in December after being held in a Romanian cell.

Speaking on the TalkTV show, Ms Glandian added: “In our view this is a huge injustice, they should not be arrested at this time.

“They are controversial public figures, but that is not a crime.

“At this point we have not been presented with evidence of their crimes, nor have they been charged.

“So I would ask that people assume that they are innocent as they are.”

Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Bucharest on December 29 as part of an investigation into human trafficking and rape.

They were detained along with two other people on suspicion of forming an organized criminal group.
