Page Six revealed the ongoing investigation into the former hosts is a major distraction and headache for ABC employees.
Insiders told this outlet they’re losing patience with boss Kim Godwin and how she’s dealing with it.
Kim pulled Amy and TJ on air in December, just days after news of their affair broke.
“It will take two months! It was a two-month tabloid frenzy. The place is not in a very good place [to be]’ the insider said.

They continued, “It affects morale – not so much talent. It’s the base – the people who leave the lights on. Morale is at an all-time low.”
However, Kim defended herself, telling PageSix that she took her off the air because their affair was becoming an “internal and external distraction.”
An insider told the publication that their parent company Disney’s reputation is on the line if the hosts return to the show.
HIGHER PERFORMANCE
Many GMA staffers were confused because the pair weren’t immediately pulled off and the co-hosts didn’t address the situation when they emerged.

News of their affair broke while the co-hosts were on air at the end of November, so they were allowed to remain on the show for a few more days.
“Why tell people they didn’t hurt anything and then take them off the air? That makes no sense. There’s nothing consistent about her behavior other than the inconsistencies in her behavior,” a source said.
Insiders blame Kim for messing up the situation, saying she’s been very indecisive and prolonging the drama.
They said host DeMarco Morgan was oblivious to his new role.
He was flown from LA to New York overnight, and “and he didn’t know that’s why he came!” the insider claimed.
SAYING GOODBYE
A source exclusively told The US Sun that Amy and TJ will not be returning to the morning show and are planning an exit strategy.
The hosts are unofficially on the road at GMA3, and seven weeks after being taken off the air, their newly appointed legal teams are forming a plan with ABC’s attorneys and top executives to make a big announcement.
The source claimed, “The ABC legal team is taking a really long time because it’s a really small but totally trusted team of lawyers.
“They definitely score with their I’s and cross their T’s for Amy and TJ’s exit strategy.”
While the network insider doesn’t know the specifics of what the paired co-hosts may or may not be on the network going forward, “it’s clear they won’t be returning to GMA3.”
An insider close to Amy and TJ added that while nothing has been made official yet, “They’re unlikely to even return to the network.”
The network insider added: “ABC will be paying big bucks to keep everyone happy and walk away very, very quietly.
“Barren NDAs will be signed and everything in their exit treaties will ensure there are no nuclear explosions in the aftermath.
“This whole situation has been handled very poorly and ABC’s legal team has had their hands full making sure everything is right.
The source also assured Disney CEO Bob Iger “will be sure to keep an eye on the final packages.”
Meanwhile, another source with knowledge of the negotiations added that Amy & TJ’s attorneys are currently in close contact with the network’s legal team.

“They’re all working on strategies to make hosts comfortable enough for the network to walk away from as quietly as possible.”
As The US Sun previously revealed, Amy and TJ believe they will be fired from the network.
