Americans can claim up to $3,600 in tax credits per child THIS MONTH

THE deadline for receiving Missed Child Tax Credits is just weeks away — but parents still have time to claim up to $3,600 per child.
Americans must claim the credits on their tax forms due April 18.

Many Americans received their child tax credits as early as 2021 after President Joe Biden expanded the program from $2,000 per child to as much as $3,600 under the American Rescue Act.
Most eligible parents have opted to receive their credits, but some people may have deferred payments or not received all of what was owed to them.
Parents with children under the age of six can apply for $3,600, and families with children between the ages of six and 17 will receive $3,000.
Regardless of the amount of money owed, the entire loan can be claimed on this year’s tax return.

Families are advised to check to see if the IRS sent letter 6419 to the household.
This letter will state how much money is owed to the household to support the future children.
Those who have received none or all of their credits should plan to complete Schedule 8812 (Form 1040).
To qualify for the 2021 maximum CTC, couples must earn less than $150,000 and single parents applying to be heads of household must earn less than $112,500.
It is recommended that families who are not comfortable filing their tax returns seek the help of a tax professional.
The Sun has issued a guide to the 2022 federal tax return – which has changed this year due to public holidays.
Get the third stimulus
Similar to the child tax credit, people who didn’t get their third stimulus check can claim it for tax purposes that year.
The April 18 deadline also applies to this payment, valued at up to $1,400.
This comes as Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker announced last week that key low-income workers will be among the first to receive the stimulus check payments.
These checks are part of the Essential Employee Premium Pay program.

WKRC reported that the program offered payments of between $500 and $2,000 to employees who worked during the Covid pandemic.
Eligibility is based on income reported on 2020 tax returns.
