Former American Idol judge Randy Jackson has raised concerns after appearing with a frail frame in the anniversary episode.
The record producer was noticeably thinner and fans are worried about him.
Randy sat in the judges’ chairs alongside Paula Abdul on Monday night after Idol alumni including Laine Hardy, David Cook and Jordin Sparks performed duets to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.
The two were the show’s original judges, and Randy left after season 12.
Randy expressed how excited he was to be back and couldn’t believe how quickly the time had passed.
While fans were excited about her return, they were also worried about the record producer and how much weight he’d lost.
Fans tweeted their concern for the 65-year-old and asked if he was okay.
“Is Randy Jackson okay? He looks a little skinny #AmericanIdol,” one fan asked.
Someone else just asked if he was ok while posting a photo of him from the reunion special.
Randy also returned to FOX as the bandleader on the show Name That Tune.
It was there that fans first noticed how skinny he looked.
“Is Randy Jackson okay? He just doesn’t look himself,” asked one fan, adding praying hands.
“Randy Jackson is so skinny. I’m really worried about him,” said another.
As early as 2003, Randy was known for his taller physique and underwent a gastric bypass.
On Idol, before his surgery, he weighed 350 pounds.
A few years later, however, he spoke about his type 2 diabetes diagnosis in his book, Body With Soul.
Randy was diagnosed with diabetes in 2003 and had been trying to lose weight for his health ever since.
He told the press at the time that he had spent most of his life “feeding through bad habits.”
Since then, the former judge has maintained a weight loss of over 100 pounds.
HOW HE STAYS IN FORM
During a 2021 appearance on the Today Show, Randy Hoda told Kotb and Jenna Bush-Hager that his health was a work in progress.
“I started this health program many years ago while I was employed american idol…Lost and gained a lot of weight,” he told them.
“Then, [I] went on my own journey to try and figure out, ‘How do I keep it off? What can I do?'”
So far, Randy has lost 115 pounds by adopting better eating habits after his surgery.
He never abstains from food and eats in moderation.
If Randy is craving chocolate, he’ll opt for frozen yogurt instead, he told WebMD.
Before his surgery, he only exercised a total of 30 minutes a week, but now he walks every day, even if it’s only 10 minutes.
Eventually Randy made the gym his priority and he ran or walked on the treadmill and did yoga.
It’s not clear how much weight Randy lost today, but fans think he may have lost too much.
The record producer recently resurfaced for Idol and Name That Tune.
