Carly, 39, attended one Reddit Questions and Answers with American Idol fans, answered questions about their time on the show, and more.

At one point she was asked, “Do you think any of the current judges should be replaced by some new, fresh faces? If so, who would you like to see judge next season?”

The musician held nothing back and replied: “I think that the current culture of our world prevents the jury from being harsh on the contestants. They’re also musicians themselves, so they risk pissing off their own fans.” Simon [Cowell] had nothing to lose because he wasn’t selling anything.

She added: “I miss Simon to be honest. He was cool, but it was great TV. Our world is too sensitive these days.”

She concluded: “Simon has told me terrible things, but it has prepared me for the industry that lies ahead. It’s no place for a snowflake.”

Carly took part in the seventh season of American Idol.

At the time, Simon was a judge alongside Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

NEW BEGINNING

The current American Idol judges are Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy.

Since the beginning of this season, fans of “American Idol” have been demanding a significant upgrade of the show.

Fans of the competitive series insisted the showrunners improve that reality They took part in the singing competition and took to social media to voice their criticism.

The official Idol Instagram account recently shared a message on the platform promoting the show’s return for a 22nd season.

“American Idol is coming back for another season,” the caption read.

The post’s caption encouraged fans to sing along with the contestants for another season.

Several followers flocked to the comments section, urging ABC executives to make changes to the show for the upcoming season.

Eliminations in just one night were the main fan concerns that kept being suggested.

One person raged: “Cool. Go back to single elimination nights and let both coasts watch and vote before you’re eliminated the next night.”

“You endured the worst aspects of The Voice (multiple eliminations and host skits) despite having incredible talent.

“They’ve had at least ten stars this season, but they’ve been kicked off the stage. Give them all more time to show us who they are.”

Another added in reply, “…All of this, plus a chance to give the eliminated singers their final ‘swan song’.”

“The show used to do this rather than shove them off the stage unless they were chosen to sing for a jury parade.”

A number of other fans insisted the show bring in new judges to replace the current ones.

“Please new judges,” demanded a fan.

One person supported the commenter, adding, “Of course I just found it so refreshing to have Alanis.” [Morissette] and ed [Sheeran] last week.

“I just feel like the three that we have now have said everything they’re going to say … repeat themselves.”

Another advocated: “Make Alanis a permanent judge. She exudes joy and gives honest, sensible feedback.”

“They never say anything critical like Simon. Always so positive it’s not realistic,” said another.

THAT’S ENOUGH

Idol fans have criticized the show’s final season, claiming it was rushed.

Viewers claimed it ruined the show when multiple contestants left the show at the end of each live episode.

Other fans have complained that the casting process has been dragging on and criticized the producers for sending 14 candidates home in a week.

One reviewer wrote on Reddit, “Anyone else felt like this season felt rushed?”

“I loved this season initially, but since we hit the top 20 I feel like they’re just shedding talent in droves and I wasn’t enjoying it as much.”

Another added: “I miss Idol from back then. When they had the top 12 and only one contestant went home each week. Those were the days!”

A third suggested: “Could easily cut out a week of Hollywood and a week of auditions and then add two weeks or two nights of live shows.”

Another user commented: “The cuts have been brutal this year. 26 to 20 to 12 in one week is just too much,” which another fan described as “staggering.”
