AMERICAN Idol fans have expressed concern for Ed Sheeran after noticing his seemingly odd behavior on the show.

The 32-year-old Thinking Out Loud singer filled in for Lionel Richie at the ABC singing competition this week.

Ed sat on the jury and helped with the criticism idol Contestants performing some of his best hits.

While many fans praised the singer’s looks, others found that he appeared calm, gave “brief and general” feedback, and acted like he “didn’t want to be around.”

One wrote on Reddit: “Is Ed Sheeran okay?! Why is nobody talking about this? His comments were all super boring, short and general.”

“I hope he’s fine. It seemed he did NOT want to be there. We must check on him.”

Another fan added on an Instagram fan account, “Yeah I thought he seemed calm, that was weird.”

A third pointed out, “Anyone will sound boring and generic next to Alanis.” [Morissette, fellow guest judge]. She is a walking dictionary.

One user defended Ed, insisting: “Ed is fine. He’s recovering from personal troubles, but who isn’t? He’s a bit shy, very introspective guy.”

However, they added: “The idol format is not for him. He gave what was necessary.”
