‘American Idol’: Bobby Bones confirms season 20 exit

Bobby Bones, who came from MIA American Idol So far, the season 20 promo has confirmed that his four-year run as the reality TV show’s in-house mentor has come to an end.

blank“My contract with my new network won’t allow me to do another show right now,” Bones shared somewhat cryptically during a recent Instagram AMA. “Idol love, BTW. 4 years has been great. ”

Bones did not share details about his new commitment (“The network hasn’t even announced the show”), other than saying, “As soon as I can tell [why I was in Costa Rica], I will…. But it’s a really good show. ”

Bones this Friday night CBS ‘co-hosted New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, with ETby Rachel Smith.

American Idol premieres its 20th (and fifth) season on ABC on Sunday, February 22 at 8/7c.
