‘Am I seeing everything?’ – Roy Keane smokes in front of Man Utd stars Maguire and Varane for wearing gloves during the Tottenham warm-up

ROY KEANE did his usual tricks on Saturday night – when he blasted Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane for wearing gloves.

The not-so-tough centre-backs opted to keep their hands nice and tight as they relaxed during the warm-up at Old Trafford.

That’s despite the temperature hitting a mild 11 degrees at the start of the game in Manchester.

Television cameras focused on United’s four defenders – Maguire, Varane as well as full-backs Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles – all in prep exercises.

And unsurprisingly, former Reds captain Keane reacted with a trademark comment.

Speak like an expert about Sports skyexploding Irish player: “Are they wearing gloves? Are they wearing gloves? Am I seeing things?”

He then quips: “That’s a great message. Two big powerful central halves!”

Maguire and Varane played the full 90 minutes as a central defensive pairing.

Despite the toast, a resounding victory was far from over – they had to get past Cristiano Ronaldo three times to take all three points.

And Maguire was still beaten cold in the second half.

Sergio Reguilon delivered a low cross into the danger zone and the current keeper extended his foot – redirecting the ball past his helpless keeper David de Gea for the first own goal.

Tottenham goalkeeper Cristian Romero taunted Maguire by shouting at him.

Although it was the England defender who got the last laugh thanks to Ronaldo’s brilliant header to secure the Reds’ first hat-trick in 14 years.

Regarding Romero’s antics, Keane added: “It’s not okay. You’ll notice that, don’t worry.

“I criticized Maguire, but you can’t be there [for the own goal].

“He’s trying his best, it was an honest mistake and these things happen in football.”
