Alec Baldwin’s mother Carol died aged 92 and he writes a touching tribute as she leaves behind 25 grandchildren, including Hailey Bieber

ALEC Baldwin’s mother Carol has died aged 92.

The actor announced the news today with a touching tribute on social media.

On Instagram, Alec, 64, shared two pictures of his mother, one from when she was young and one more recent.

He wrote: “It is with deepest regret that my family releases the following statement.

“Carol M. Baldwin, mother of actors Alec, Daniel, William and Stephen Baldwin and their two daughters Elizabeth and Jane, died today in Syracuse, New York. She was 92.”

In addition to her six children, Carol is survived by 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A member of her famous family is Hailey Bieber, daughter of Stephen.

Hailey reshared her uncle’s post to her Instagram Stories and added the caption, “We love you grandma” with a white heart and a dove emoji.

Carol’s cause of death has not yet been publicly announced.

The family statement shared some interesting facts about the mother-of-six.

After raising her children, Carol survived a breast cancer diagnosis in 1991 and went on to raise millions of dollars for cancer research at the State University of New York.

She devoted the latter half of her life to finding a cure for breast cancer and inspired her three-time Golden Globe-winning son with her dedication.

The family statement included some personal words from Alec, who said: “My mother taught me about second acts. And also about third parties.

“She has spent the last 25 years of her life fighting and championing the cause to which she has dedicated her life.

“We are all enormously proud of their achievements.”

Family bereavement comes at a difficult time for Alec, who is dealing with the aftermath of the accidental shooting of a cameraman on the set of the movie Rust.

TRAGIC ACCIDENT

Alec made headlines after firing a prop cannon that resulted in the death of Rust crewman Halyna Hutchins.

The accidental shooting occurred on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Haylna’s family has sued the star over the “reckless” shooting on set.

The lawsuit alleges that Alec, along with other defendants in the case, “failed to conduct industry safety checks and follow basic gun safety rules while using real guns to produce the film Rust, with fatal consequences.”
